The ALPINE OAK WINNER IS…

ARCHITECTURE FIRM – EDWARDS MOORE

Congratulations to Edwards Moore Architects!

On the 24th September 2015, we launched our ALPINE OAK design competition where we asked YOU to design a project with ALPINE OAK in mind. The best entrant would be selected to win $3000.00 worth of ALPINE OAK and have their winning application projected to Australia!

The feedback was overwhelming with diverse uses proposed. Submissions were received for furniture, display homes, caravan fit outs and large area floorings (to name a few) but the submission from Edwards Moore stood proud of the others. Ben Edwards, from Edwards Moore, proposed a project overlooking Wye River in Victoria that was not only bold and showcased the diversity of ALPINE OAK but he offered a project which would suit the natural variation, sustainability and beauty of the character timber range by using flooring, lining and bench tops. This project was chosen as the winner because the judges felt it was not only the best use of ALPINE OAK strategically but also visually. We can’t wait to see the images. You can learn more about the Edwards Moore here.

For those who missed out, ALPINE OAK is a unique creation from ASH incorporating small section Victorian Ash pieces and joining them in a way to create stunning variation in grain and colour. The entire range is available in 5.4m set lengths and will stain into almost any colour you like – expanding the aperture of use greatly.

While the judging panel did determine a stand out favourite, there was a number of applications at a close ‘second place’ who deserve a mention. With that in mind, special rates will be offered to others by private email.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the ALPINE OAK design competition. We obviously couldn’t have done this without you. If you are interested in learning more about ALPINE OAK, feel free to click the buttons below.
