The Solway’ is a statement in style with lavish finishes and a clever light-filled open floor plan. The brilliant mind behind this designer home is Joel Ryan, founder of Orbis Constructions. Orbis Constructions ethos is based on a commitment to deliver design, detail and quality that re-defines the residential experience. The company is a collaboration of specialised professionals, hands-on craftsmen, designers and builders.
Joel and his team crafted an inviting home with floor to ceiling glass, a Victorian Ash timber staircase and Australian Oak flooring that adds an element of warmth and natural tones to the project. The functionality of the space is enhanced by a selection of materials, purposefully chosen by Nala Nguyen and the team at Nala Design.
Joel explained the reason for choosing Australian Oak Engineered Flooring, “With an endless selection of engineered flooring already on the market, many untested, it was very exciting for us to finally see an Australian grown Oak flooring finished in an exquisite way. To have such a well finished board is truly worth the investment as it offers a degree of assurance that will perform exceptionally well for many years to come”.
“As a design choice, the Victorian ash flooring offers a wonderful matte and brush finish. The majority of this house was to be finished with a timber flooring, and the functionality and performance of this product was paramount. With its subtle grain and colour variations, the flooring offers that beautifully flat appearance whilst maintaining a level of sheer elegance” as expressed by Orbis Constructions.
It is clear this design represents timber design at its finest.
