A small, easy drive North West of Melbourne will take you into the charming town of Castelmaine. Here Paul Hassall from Life House design was able to show us O’Halloran House, a small and thoughtfully designed home set high on hill with stunning views. Paul Hassall comments on the project – “Timber is always the first choice for window frames for our projects – it fits with our key design objective of maximising energy efficiency of the building envelope.
In the case of the O’Halloran House, GoodWood Victorian ash matched these requirements, and also the clients’ desire for low maintenance and highly durable finishes on the building exterior. Hardwood windows also worked aesthetically with the textural palette of concrete, timber veneer, steel cladding, and plain white interior surfaces.
