ASH timber has PEFC accreditation, which means our PEFC certified materials are now eligible to achieve a LEED certification.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a widely used third party verification for green buildings. The Alternative Compliance Path (ACP) rewards building projects that use ‘wood projects from certified sources… including internationally recognised voluntary forest certification standards like PEFC and FSC.’
All the above means is that LEED is another certification that provides customers with the evidence that the wood their purchasing originates from sustainably managed forests.
The Margaret Court Arena, one of the biggest projects in Victoria, achieved an outstanding LEED gold rating with the use of GoodWood Victorian Ash and Supa Span – a gold rating being one of the highest ratings a project can receive.
Other ASH accreditations include; Australian Forest Standard (AFS), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) and audited by the Environmental Management System ISO140001.
