The Space

The St Kilda Cottage is a gentle reminder that timeless architecture is just that, timeless.

JOST ARCHITECTS

“The design is careful and clean, but controlled and practical. The detail was very important to the clients which delivered a combination of sensibility and functionality which won’t date”

The chic design by Jost Architects highlights the perfect combination of timber, concrete and black matte accents.

Jost Architects are a Melbourne based architectural firm founded by Patrick Jost. The practice’s philosophy is that their projects ‘should not only have the most functional result but be of a high quality contemporary design and on budget for our clients’. Jost Architects work across residential, commercial and institutional sectors in all stages of design including conceptual design, town panning, documentation and procurement.

The contemporary build features a monochrome interior, highlighting the timber and concrete throughout. Simone at Jost Architects explained “the interior finishes were selected to be honest to the raw textures and colour of the materials employed”.

Australian Oak 190 x 15 with a 4mm wear layer, select grade, matte, smooth in the ‘natural’ colour was laid in this beautiful St Kilda home. To take a look at the limitless customisation options available for Australian Oak, click here.
