Clean symmetry, robust materials and thoughtful design was the basis of this incredible Howitt residence. Located on Caulfield’s golden mile, ‘Howitt’ represents the ultimate city home fit for a large family or modern couple.
Designed and built by mckimm, this home encompasses the ethos of the firm – a holistic residential design practice that develops beautiful, sophisticated and liveable spaces. Founded by Nick McKimm over 25 years ago, he and his team are known to create contemporary homes with detailed design and quality construction. ‘The mckimm design aesthetic is one of relaxed living that brings the outdoors in’.
For those passing by on Howitt Road, the facade is an immediate stand out. “The architectural layering of the facade combines robust materials such as concrete, timber and brick and is carried out with precision, creativity and finesse” as stated by mckimm.
A custom IronAsh shiplap cladding profile was used to clad the garage and side wall of the home, which adds a burst of colour and warmth to themonochrome front. IronAsh was the perfect choice for this project because it is adurable product that not only looks stunning, but will also perform for years to come.
