Project
Archier is a design studio based in Melbourne creating architecture, furniture and lighting which adheres to a minimal and elegant aesthetic.
Composed of three architects with Victorian and Tasmanian roots, Archier grew from a common desire for subtle interior objects which complement their surrounding space. A predilection to explore locally available materials, trades and processes helps drive their design process, paired with ongoing experimentation and prototyping.
Archier are proud to use their trades-people and suppliers as a cohesive network to create their objects, which are thoughtfully made from sustainable timber, brass and steel, using a variety of crafts. Their production and prototyping facility is located in the Melbourne suburb of Preston, shared with Power To Make.
Archier say they use Victorian ash select grade material from Urban Salvage. A distributor of GoodWood Victorian ash. The material is “really high quality and easy to use. It’s always given us a consistent and reliable quality and result”. They go on to say that it is “really simple to work with and cost effective. Our clients love it”.
