Stadium Flooring. Gippsland Grammar.

Aquilina Timber Floors

The newly built, $2.5M Laurie Payne Sports Centre at Gippsland Grammar incorporates a stadium, a foyer, change facilities as well as a mezzanine with classrooms and the Principal, David Baker, is very happy with the outcome, the way it is being used and looks. The stadium uses GoodWood Victorian ash Sports Floor from Australian Sustainable Hardwoods in Heyfield, Victoria and was laid and polished by Aquilina Timber Floors in Melbourne.

“We’re very, very thankful to the Federal Government who provide funding for this project and also our school’s foundation” Says Principal David Baker.

“We’ve also had a number of benefactors who’ve helped us along the way. So without their support we just would not have been able to complete the construction.”

The Australian Government Capital Grants Programme contributed $500,000 and Gippsland Grammar contributed $2,062,000

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says “I think, quite fittingly, the new centre is named after Laurie Payne, who is well known in the Gippsland region as a fantastic sports trainer and coach in football, but also here as a teacher at the school.”
